For You!!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday. Today is the begininning of a long weekend for us Canadians. Yeah!! And to top it off, we (my husband and I) are on holidays for the next week. Ahh - holidays!! We aren't going anywhere or doing anything particularily special. Just having a STAY-cation. And I'm so excited to spend some time with my family and just do day trips around home. We plan on going to Playland, hiking and maybe even the waterslides. Fun! Fun!

Well, enough about that...
On to today's project. I made a card using some yummy products from Kaiser Craft. It is a card based on the sketch at OCC.

Pretty simple. Pretty cute!! I haven't used Kraft for a card base, in a looooonnngggg time, so I was quite happy with the result.
And I just love these picks from Making Memories. Just a nice amount of sparkle, I think.

Okay, well, I am going to run but you can be sure I will set aside some time this next weeks to do some more creating!! Until then,

~Alexis

Christmas in July

Hey Everyone!!
Christmas in July??!!
I know, you are all probably thinking...what is this crazy lady talking about. But it's true!! Today's posting consists of all Christmas cards. I haven't pulled out any of my Christmas stamps or paper in soooo long that it was really fun.

This first set of cards is for a challenge over at Christmas Cards All Year Round. I teach at the same store as one of the designers (Hey Colleen!!) so I thought I would show my support and play along. This months challenge is "anything goes". So here's my take :

Aren't these little penguins adorable??!! I thought so.

Quick and simple. But hey, when you make as many Christmas cards as I do, there is bound to be a few simple layouts??!! :)

And on to Part 2 :
This next card is for the current challenge at Blogabella. I haven't even laid eyes on this stamp since last December. (that's how barried my Christmas stamps get. Lol) But anyways, I like how it turned out :
I even flocked the white trim on the clothes!! Too cute!!

Quick Tip :
Have you ever stamped an image that you wanted to color with your Copic markers, and it hasn't turned out very clear?
Well, that's what happened to me today. So I thought I would share my solution - just in case you don't know... there is something called a Copic Multiliner - best thing in the world!!
I used it to fill in the missing stamp lines :
Voila!! It's super thin so I can use it on almost all of my stamped images. Love it!!

Here is a picture of the Copic colors I used today :
Well, I hope you enjoyed my cards and a little quick tip!! Hope I have inspired you to dust off the 'ol Christmas supplies and get creating!! Have fun!!

My First Ever Mini-Album

I have a really quick post for everyone today.
Last week I joined in a class being taught at the store where I teach as well and we made these adorable mini albums. It was my first ever!! I was so excited!! The class was awesome. Thanks Jacquie!!

I loved the mini album so much I have begun making two more!! One is with the oh-so-sute-  Adobe line of papers from American Crafts. I am making this one for my mom and it will be called "home is where the heart is..."

and the other is with the irrestibly adorable Splash Dance paper from Imaginisce. It will be filled with summer photos.

I can't wait to be done so I can show off a new found favourite!!

Have a good day
Take Care

Blowfish : 2S4Y

Hi Everyone,

TGIF!! I love Fridays - except for one thing. My commute home from work takes twice as long. In the morning it takes me 25mins and on Friday afternoons it take about an hour!!! Yuck!! I hate it but, small price to pay for a job that I love.

Ok, well, on to why you all came. Today I created a card using a new Snag 'Em blowfish stamp from Imaginsce. Too cute!! I coloured with copics and then assembled my card using coordinating paper and the sketch from 2S4Y. I always love thier sketches. This is no exception!! Here's the sketch and then my take.

And a close-up of the blowfish :

I know the sketch has a semi circle but I just couldn't pull myself to cut this little cutie. So I left it round. And I do love the rain dots I added (to look like bubbles). I haven't used them in forever and it feels good to pull out an old favourite.

Hope you have a great weekend. I'm sure I'll be back with more creations.

Play Date w/ The Sweet Stop

Hey Everyone,

So my family took the day off yesterday to enjoy the sunshine and visit with family. It was a great day!! Had a blast, ate too much and laughed too hard. But enough about that...

I'm here tody to show you a card I made for the Play Date Cafe challenge. This is their photo inspiration this week :
I took the idea of the shelves and the colour inspiration to create this :

I used the sketch from : The Sweet Stop

I love how this turned out. I don't often do multiple stamps on one card but I really should more often. It's such and easy way to create a scene. Anyways, I gotta run and play catch up for my mid-week day off...
but I hope you enjoy the card.

Bellarific Friday

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

It feels like Sunday for me because my husband is home this morning. We took the day off to go and visit my mom's trailer in the U.S. It's only about a 45min drive so we thought we would go and visit her and enjoy this beautiful weather. We are going at about noon so I had a bit of time this morning to play with my crafts. I created this card for the Bellarific Friday Challenge. Here's their sketch :

And here's what I came up with :

This little cutie has been sitting in my stash just waiting to be inked up for about 2 years. Poor stamp. ;) But today is her day. I colored her with copics and layered her on some DCWV patterned paper. Gave her some stickles sparkles and that's that. I did flip the sketch because I wanted the sparkles to flow from her hand and it wasn't working the other way... hopefully this still counts as following the sketch??

Anyways, I'm off to enjoy this gorgeous weather and some good old fashioned family time. Keep your fingers crossed that we don't have any trouble going through the border!!

Tuesday Trio Using My Mind's Eye Patterned Paper

It's Tuesday morning and I have 3 cards for you this morning. I had a great time creating these. The first is for : FTL98 - Clean & Simple sketch challenge :

and what I came up with :
I wish my stamping had turned out a little better but this was try #3 and it was the best of the bunch??!! (you know how it goes somedays...)
But I do love this layout and I know I will recreate it again!!

Card # 2 is for the sketch over at 2S4Y :

AND MY CARD :

I love these dimensional lady bugs. They are just so darn cute!! The even have little copper antenea. Too cute!!

And card # 3 :
The card was created using the Stampin' Royalty sketch :
All of the cards today have used My Mind's Eye patterned paper.
(Quite Contrary) - one of my all time favs!!
Hope you enjoy!!

OCC - let's get CORKY

So, fairly self explanitory...
The current challenge over at OCC is to use cork. I found this really thin cork at a local craft store about 6 months ago and I used die cuts to cut all sorts of different shapes. I cut some words and flowers and butterflies, ect. And I really love the texture it brings to the cards (without being too bulky) So anyways, this is what I came up with today :

It's fairly simple and sweet take. But I do enjoy the color combo and sometimes, a simple card is very pleasing to the eye.

Take it easy!!

Crazy For Challenges & CPS

How is everyone?!! Hopefully your week has gotten off to a good start. You know what's great about Mondays? They only come once a week. lol!! ; )

Anyways, on to the good stuff. Here is a card I created with 2 different challenges in mind. I used the current sketch over at CPS #175.

And the current challenge at :
Crazy 4 Challenges is to use :
RED, WHITE AND BLACK.

Here's my take :

This little cutie is a stamp from one of my all time favourite companies : Whippersnapper Designs. Her name is Missy Mouse. I colored her with Copic markers. Here is a close-up of here :

Well, I'm hoping everyone's week goes by really quick and we can get back to enjoying our weekends!!
I'll be back to post some more cards later.

A Quick Minute...

Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Here in B.C. Canada, it's gorgeous and the weather man predicts it will stay this way for atleast another few days...fingers crossed - that he's actually right for a change. lol.

Anyways, I have a quick card to show you today. I have been missing being able to play along with some of my favourite challenges, but I stole a quick moment this morning, while everyone was still asleep, to play along with the current challenge at : Color Q
Here is my take:
(sorry the photo is kinda dark?!!)

Anyways, hope you enjoy!!
We are heading out today to go for a drive. My husband took the doors and top off of our new jeep so it should be fun. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!!

Have a good day!!

With that being said... I have had the day off today. Kinda a strange day to have off - a Thursday - but hey, I'll take it!! We haven't been very exciting today. Just laundry and cleaning and all that good stuff. I did manage to sneak away for a few hours and check out the latest Twilight movie - Eclipse. Sooo good!! If you are a Twilight fan - you better go and see it!!

Okay well, gotta run and tuck my babe into bed.

Have a good day!!
