So, when making cards I don't often stray from my usual A2 (4 1/4" X 5 1/2") size. But the current challenge over at the Cards blog is to create mini cards. I thought this would be fun to try. The stipulation on the size is : NO BIGGER THAN 3".
In the first photo I will show the cards with a typical 500ml bottle of water - just so you can get a feel for the actual size. I REALLY enjoyed making these and I think they turned out adorable. I used digital images from Dustin Pike. If you haven't seen his images - you NEED to check him out and he often releases freebie downloads too!! And all his images are too cute for words. This is a great way to get images for different sizes of cards. All I did was resize it before I printed it off. Too easy.
Anyways, here they are :
I used the current sketch over at Card Patterns for the first one I'm going to show you.
And it also fits in to the Stampin' Royalty challenge : GREEN
Card # 2 used the sketch over at 2S4Y :
and a close-up of the image :
I really like the effect that the soft feather gives. Stay tuned for other "feathered" cards. (I picked up some great ones the other day and haven't had a chance to use them yet - but I will soon!!)
and Card # 3 used the sketch from The Sweetest Thing
and a closeup of the image, again
I colored all of the images with Copics.
Told you - the images are SO cute. You REALLY need to hop over and check out Dustin Pike's blog!! I'm a huge fan of his work!! And you can be sure to see me use other images, soon. I bought the whole March 4th release. (and think it's all adorable) If you want to see another card I made using images from Dustin Pike
Well, I hope you like all of the cards. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!! I love reading everyone's comments and then I usually end up purusing your blog, aswell!! I love new inspiration and ideas.
Have a good Wednesday!!
