Aaaaa, Saturday!!

I love Saturday...
A slow wake up, a cup of tea and pouring over the amazing inspiration in everyone else's blogs!! Love it!!

Last night I watched the opening ceremonies for the olympics!! Weren't they awesome!! The light display was incredible and that poets poem. He was fenominal!! And I also loved when Katy Lang sang. Her voice just radiates through your bones. Both my husband and I had chills. Since the olympics are happening in my own backyard - in live in Vnacouver - it's not hard to get caught up in the buzz and excitement!! It's here - so I might aswell enjoy it!! Welcome world!! We love having you in Vancouver!!

Anyways, on to a few cards and a littlE selfish project...
the first card was created for the
MG Sketch Challenge
and
I used the colour challenge over at Color Dare
(love this little guy)

here are the copics I used to color him and a close up of the little guy :

Stay tuned for more from this little dragon!! I love him and I know I'm going to use him again soon!!
(Stampin' Bella stamp)

And here is a card I created for the Color Throwdown :
(simple and sweet)

And now onto my selfish project.
A few weeks ago I create a notebook cover for the notebooks I used to keep track of different crafting inspirations, challenges ect. I read a comment from that post saying that I lady uses one by her computer and keeps one in her purse. What a great idea!! So I had this adorable paper and here's what I created!!

I LOVE owls and I knew once I saw this paper I had to have it!! The only problem... it was in a paper pack!! So of course, I ended up buying the whole paper pack!! Oh well, I know I'll use the other paper. It is very cute paper - Berry Sweet by K and Company.

Well, have a good weekend!!

I had a little Mojo this Monday

Don't forget about the blog candy giveaway. For details click here!!

So, if you are following any of the olympic news then you may know the torch is making it's way across the province of B.C. Today the torch was in the city I live in, Langley. As exciting as that is... they decided to do the majority of todays events on our street. Traffic nightmare!! Or so I thought... I left work a little early so that I wouldn't be late for getting my daughter and I was quite early. So I came home and enjoyed some quiet at my craft table. Here's what I came up with :

For the color challenge at : There She Goes (pink, red, brown)
and
The Pink Elephant Challenge : Valentine

This handsome little devil is a stamp from Penny Black. Too cute!!

and I used a new product, for me. I just picked some up. I don't have a clue how long it's been around?? Probably forever. But I love new finds - even if I'm the last one to know. It's called diamond glaze. It's glue and it makes whatever you apply it to, appear glossy and raised. Kinda cool, right??!!

Not the best picture... but I assure you, it's pretty cool stuff!!

And here is another card I created using another stamp from the same Penny Black acrylic set.
Using the sketch from 2S4Y
and
the color challenge from : My Graffico

I paper pieced the balloon (for dimension) and it's colored with Tombow watercolor markers.

And as a last step, I added Stickles to the flowers for some sparkle.

Hope you enjoyed. Happy Monday!!

These are for the boys!!

Don't forget to click here to be entered into a draw for a huge score of blog candy!!

*******************************

So, I often am asked to make cards for birthdays, holidays, parties, weddings ect. So, this was no different. I was asked to make a birthday card for a little boys first birthday. It's for the grandson of a lady that I work with. Now, you have to understnad, the lady that I work with is the BEST!! She is one of the sweetest, funniest people that I know!! We spend many hours a week together because we share an office and I've really grown to love her!! Trust me - if you knew her you would too!! - So, I wanted to spend a little extra time on this card and here's what I came up with :

It conviently fits into 2 challenges.

and
The Sketch challenge over at Stampin' Royalty

The animals and the number "1" are cut with my cricut and with suede textured paper. So cute!! I hope she likes it.

And as a bonus - you'll see my next card used the sillouette left from the puppy of the inside (of the birthday card) as the middle focus. The inside of the card reads : Have a dog-gone good day!!

The layout is from the My Grafico Sketch

I chose to use a square instead of a circle.
But I love how this simple card turned out.
And it was all scraps just lying on the table. Gotta love that!!

I'll be back later to post a few more cards!!
~Thanks~
