Cotton Candy Anyone?

Hello Everyone,

I am back to show you a couple more projects. These two little cuties were really fun for me to create. I love how you can resize digital images and today I am going to show you how versatile it can be to have the same image in different sizes.

This first is a card I made using the sketch from JUGS
and the sketch :
I switched it to have the image and squares on the other side.
I am also entering this card into :

And for the second creation :

I resized the image to be WAY smaller and used it to make a tag. I don't usually make tags but I thought it was a perfect size for a tag. I really enjoyed making a tag and I think you may see more of these from me in the future!!
I used my NEW spellbinders - Lacy Squares die to create this fun shape.
(Thanks Hubby - he got this for me for Christmas!!)
I am entering this cute little tag into the challenge at :

And here are the 2 creations together and you can see how much the image is resized!!
Well I hope it inspires you to try something new!!
New sizes, digital images and tag making!!
Love it!!

Being Creative Soothes my Soul!!
Happy Craftin'
Till next time!!

New Beginnings

New Beginnings
and nothing says "NEW" like a new baby.

Today's card is just that. Celebrating a new baby. I have had this stamp for a while and never created anything with her. And she's so cute so I knew I had to break out the Copics and get her colored up!!
(Image is from Mo Manning)
Isn't she adorable?? I think so.
I am entering this card in the

I used the current sketch at CPS

I decided to take some creative liberty and add the flowers in front of the center panel instead of behind. I hope that's okay.

I love the mini button flower centers too.
I have been wanting to use these mini buttons, and I thought this was a perfect fit!!

I am also entering this card for :

Have a great Sunday!!
Rest, relax, football and laundry are on my agenda.
Hope your Sunday is just as relaxing!!

Cricut Creations - January

Good Morning Everyone,

This morning I am going to begin with a little something new!!
I am excited to announce that I am going to be hosting a challenge of my own!! This will be a monthly challenge. The challenge will begin the first Monday of each month and will stay open until the last day of the month.
I came up with this idea because I felt like my poor, neglected Cricut needed some love. Usually it just sits in the cupboard and rarely sees the light of day!! This year I am not only challenging you to create a monthly project, but I am also challenging myself!! I hope this will give me motiviation to use this amazing tool more often.

The rules are simple :
- become a follower of my blog
- create a project using your Cricut (you may use any cartridge(s) you have)
- follow the monthly theme
- link to your direct project (not just your blog)
- the project must be new and you must mention the challenge with your project post
- and lastly - have fun and be creative!!

The Prize :
Each month I will offer up a unique and special prize to one lucky random winner. I will ship internationally so I encourage EVERYONE to link your projects below!!

To begin this new Challenge, we are starting with a SUPER easy theme :
BIRTHDAY

Here is what I came up with :

The cartridge that I used was Cindy Loo.
The patterned paper was My Mind's Eye and the stamp in a Hero Arts sentiment.

The prize this month is
2 4x6 Scrap-Pads

I can't wait to see what you come up with. All you have to do is link your project below. The challenge will stay open until the end of the month.

Have fun, Alexis

12 Goals for 2012

Hello Everyone,

As this year is ending I find myself wanting to make some goals from the next year. You know - out with the old and in with the new. I have decided to gather my thoughts and put together a list of my
TOP 12 GOALS FOR 2012
so here they are, in no particular order :
(some are crafty and others are personal goals)
1. Get Organized - really thiS applies to everything in my life. I feel I am always rushed and pulling things together at the last minute. I am really going to try and be more organized this year. I am going to work on NOT PROCRASTINATING!!
2. Excersize more - who doesn't think they need to excersize more?? I just want to feel fit and healthy!!
3. Scrapbook more - complete atleast one double page layout a month
4. Use my Cricut more - complete atleast one project a month!!
5. Submit (and hopefully get published) a few of my projects to magazines
6. Take more pictures - I have 2 great camera and I love photography, why don't I take more pics?
7. Create more manly cards - my man stash is pretty well non-existent!!
8. Send more cards in the mail - it's always fun to recieve something other than bills. Am I right?
9. Get my website back up and running
10. Make more home-made gifts. (I have my eye on a few sewing projects - I just need to get around to starting them!!)
11. Finish my husbands crocet blanket - it has been a work in progress for 2 years. I know he wants me to complete it - and I REALLY should!!
12. Start my Christmas cards before November!!

Well, those are my goals for 2012. Some of them simple and some, not so much!!
I will continually append this page and keep you posted on my progress. I would love to know what your 2012 goals are. Leave me a comment and I will come over and check yours out too!! If we all support each other, this next year will be great!! Thanks for popping in.

And I just want to say a big THANK-YOU to everyone who has stopped by my little piece of blog land and left me a little love. It sure does make me smile to read all of the comments and warm wishes.

Cheers to all of you as we enter in 2012. May it be the best year ever!!

Big Hugs,
Alexis
