CPS Challenge

Hey Everyone,

I hope the weekend went well for everyone. It always goes by too fast, don't you think?? Well, I just wanted to put a quick post up. I wanted to play along with the CPS challenge and this is the card I made. It's a bit different from the sketch but that always seems to happen to my cards. I guess I have a problem following rules - (some things never change! lol!)

Anyways, here it is... simple and sweet. ENJOY

I used a natural CS for the card base and Bazzil for the coloured paper. The sentiment is a stamp from Technique Tuesday. The buttons are from We R and the patterned paper is from American Crafts - Letterbox - Goodbye.

I had to post a quick Link to a beautiful new site I stumbled across!! It's called My Stamping Heaven. Her cards are amazing. Check out her blog and even enter for some blog candy

EtsyInspired Challenge

Happy Saturday Everyone,

I have really grown to love all of the blogs I follow. I wake up every morning and make a cup of tea and sit down a pour through them. The inspiration here is unbelievable!! Everyone is so talented!!

Today I decided to play along with yet another challenge - the Etsy Inspired Challenge. This week they would like us to choose an image from a certain Etsy shop to be inspired by. First of all, the shop they chose this week is adorable. What little girl wouldn't love these super sweet hair accessories. The name of the Etsy shop is SkylarsCandyClips . I have chosen a beautiful sunflower hair clip. When I saw it I thought of my mom who LOVES sunflowers. Here's a picture of the hair clip followed by my card :

I hope you enjoyed my take and come and play along too!!

3 Cards - 3 Challenges

Okay, so I've only been blogging for a few months now but I have been so inspired by all of the creations that everyone posts. I have decided that this year I am going to try different challenges and play along on other blogs. I figure 'why not - it's only going to make me better, right?' So with that being said here are 3 different cards for 3 different challenges :

First is for Moxie Fab World. It a color challenge and here is a sample of the color palate :

Fun colors, right?? Well, I used the tips for exchanging the colors to Bazzil cardstock colors and here's what I came up with... a little different but I did use the Bazzil CS they suggested...

And the second is for the EBTKS blog. I just stumbled across this blog the other day and I think the samples are just beautiful. This challenge was to use wrapping paper to create any creative project. Here's what I came up with :

It's a birthday card for my husband, Kevin. He loves it when I do distressed projects, so he's sure to love this. (and the gift and the card with be matching - too cute) The chipboard "K" was aged and distressed with Tombo watercolors and Tim Holtz distress ink.

And the last is for Mojo Monday Challenge. Here is the sketch :

and here is my take on the sketch :

Well, I'm gunna go and spend some time with my wonderful husband before I leave him for the call of slumber. Ahhh, the weekend, ahhhh sleep!!

Card Positioning Challenge/ Jacksonbell Challenge

I've decided to play along with a few sketch challenges. This is my first time so...

Anyways, this is the first challenge. It's from the Card Positioning Systems website.
This is the sketch for this week :

and here is my creation
~ my first valentine's card of the year ~

Isn't he cute!!
I choose to color him with Copic markers. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I inked the edges with colors from Color Box inks, and used a few different punched to finish it off. If you are inspired to join this weeks challenge, here's the link :

Aqua and Blue

I told you it was coming...
I picked up some new ribbon yesterday and was obviously in the mood for aqua and blue.
Here's what I came up with :

I gathered up some supplies...
ribbon, cardstock, and copics

here's the copics I used :

I decided to airbrush the white cardstock before stamping a sentiment

and then I assembled them :

I made six similar cards, each with different sentiments

Hope you like them!!
This is only my second attempt using my new airbrush system so I'm still working out the kinks.

Enjoy!!
~and have a great day~

Copic Storage Solution

So today I went out to Michael's to pick up a bucket for my Copic Markers. I wanted something that could hold my copics upright, so I can see the lid colors... I managed to find what I was looking for. The only problem is... it's too full!! I can barely put them in and take them back out. I think I'll have to invest in another bucket (maybe to hold all of the grey tones - or something...)

Isn't it cute??!!
But here's a top view of how full it is :

There isn't any wiggle room!!
Back to Michael's, I go!!

I also picked up a few rolls of value priced ribbon :
(~I'm a sucker for a good deal!~)

Can you tell what color mood I was in??

Stay tuned for blue and aqua themed cards...
I have a few thoughts in mind so I think I'll go and get busy!!
Happy Scrappin'

February Sneak Peak

So as some of you may know, I will begin teaching card classes at a local craft store here in Langley. The card classes for January have already been posted since December and are avaiable for taking this month.

So I have been busy working away on ideas for Febraury card classes. Since I have a large registration for my watercolor class, I have decided to run another one in February. Here's a little sneak peak of one of the cards we will be making :

the class is geared toward more male oriented cards so I think this one is perfect.
And who doesn't love monkeys?? Come on...
And the Making Memories metal tag is sure to be a hit for all those men.
(They love hardware on cards - atleast the men in my life do??!!)

I don't want to give away all the surprises for February classes (they will be posted soon) but here is one more picture for you to salivate over until the class schedual is out!!
ENJOY!!
